Nicolle Wallace is finally settled down Michael Schmidt, MSNBC commentator
Page Six has learned exclusively that Nicolle Wallace and Michael S. Schmidt tied the knot over the weekend.
A representative for MSNBC told Page Six that the anchor and Schmidt tied the knot on Saturday in a small, family-only wedding.
The "Deadline: White House" presenter returned to work on Monday with a wedding band on her left hand.
Page Six reported in March 2019 that Wallace, age 50, was in a relationship with the New York Times reporter, age 38. Meeting for the first time on the set of her programme, where he routinely appears as a guest and analyst, is where they hit it off. The Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist was frequently in Wallace's company at the time, and the two men wasted no time in disclosing their connection to the higher-ups at the network, who promptly approved. The bosses of the network were also on board with the romantic relationship between "Morning Joe" hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough.
It was speculated that Schmidt and Wallace were "gallivanting" after they were spotted together at the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas in 2019, however a friend of Wallace's said, "Nicolle is one of the most professional people I know." An informant said at the time that the pair had recently returned from a brunch date.
The ex-husband of MSNBC's anchor, Mark Wallace, and she share custody of their kid.
During President George W. Bush, Wallace supervised White House communications; he is now planning his second wedding. From 2005 until their divorce in 2019, she was married to Mark Wallace, a barrister and the US ambassador to the UN nominated by Bush. Friends of Page Six said that the exes had been living apart for at least a year prior to the divorce.
